Last Tuesday, nearly 100 employees from Som – Fundació gathered to learn about and work together on our strategic plan. The event took place at the Martí-Codolar centre in Barcelona and included participation from colleagues across all areas and regions: social, accounting, administrative and legal teams from Barcelona, Central Catalonia, Girona, Tarragona, Lleida, and Tàrrega.
Learning through play
The meeting began with an icebreaker activity inspired by speed dating, which allowed everyone to meet and connect in a fun and dynamic way. This moment was key to warming up and getting ready for the in-depth work ahead.
Next, we played a very special game to represent the mission and values of Som – Fundació: commitment and social responsibility, trust, transparency, and independence. The activity involved expressing a value without speaking so others could guess it. It helped us connect with the meaning and power behind what we do every day.
The compass that guides us
We then presented the strategic plan and shared several examples of good practices that show how interdisciplinary work can enrich decision-making for the people we support, offering complementary perspectives from the professionals who accompany them. To conclude, we did a group activity based on the DISC method, which helped us identify and understand our diversity of talents so we can continue to grow and improve.
As a final act, the president of the board, Jordi Costa, paid a heartfelt tribute to the outgoing manager, Josep Tresserras, in recognition of his 34 years leading the organisation. It was a moment full of gratitude and emotion that closed the day with a warm round of collective applause.
With this gathering, we strengthened Som – Fundació’s commitment to the active participation of all staff and to making information and decisions truly accessible to everyone.
