At Som – Fundació, we’ve once again measured our impact using the Social Integrated Value (SIV) methodology, which helps us translate everything we contribute to society into tangible figures. This year’s analysis confirms that we continue to create shared value—not only economically, but also socially and emotionally.
What is the Social Integrated Value?
The Social Integrated Value, also known as social accounting, is a methodology endorsed by academic institutions that allows organisations to quantify and monetise the value they generate. Unlike traditional economic indicators, the SIV takes into account the perspectives of stakeholders: supported individuals, staff, volunteers, board members, families and partner organisations.
The calculation involves a collaborative process, with all these people participating in defining and evaluating key variables. Once defined, we quantified each variable using prudent economic criteria and proxies, meaning reasonable monetary estimates for each indicator.
Results of Social Integrated Value
The results are very positive: our Gross Social Integrated Value for 2023 was €12,892,535, a 31% increase compared to 2022. This growth is due to increased activity, improved indicators, and the multiplier effect of a newly incorporated emotional value component.
Indeed, for the first time, we’ve also measured the socio-emotional value we generate. This indicator reflects how supported individuals perceive the quality of care and support they receive. In our case, we obtained a multiplier of 1.28, which brings the gross socio-emotional value to over €14.7 million.
All of this translates into a key figure: for every public euro we receive, we return €4.87 to society. This is slightly lower than in 2022 (€5.31), but it still reflects a strong return and highlights the impact of our work—both economically and emotionally.
This exercise reinforces our commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and positive impact. We will keep working to generate real value for people and for society, and to measure it with care and responsibility.
