From now on, Som – Fundació welcomes 109 users with intellectual disability, mental illness or cognitive impairment who were supported by the Fundació Terres de Lleida and the Lleida entity will now definitively become part of our organization. This concludes the process of merger by absorption that began last May, after it was approved last week by the General Directorate of Law and Legal Entities of the Department of Justice of the Generalitat.
These 109 people we will support are added to the 43 people we already attend in this province, where we have been present for 30 years. Thus, our organization consolidates its presence in the territory, going on to support a total of 152 people resident in the counties of Lleida.
In total Som – Fundació will serve a total of 803 people with a provision of supports throughout Catalonia. It will also host the 41 families of people from the territory who want the entity to support them in the future, who will become part of the Som Futur de Som – Fundació program, which will have a total of 485 families, taking into account these additions. The volunteers who regularly worked there will also be integrated into our volunteer fund, which today has around 70 volunteers who accompany the people we support in their free time.
The 8 workers who carry out their work in Lleida become colleagues today, becoming part of our organization through a surrogacy procedure. These professionals will continue to do the work as before in the Tàrrega offices, which are also maintained. Therefore, the persons users and their families will not perceive any change in the service, something that is particularly important to us.
Objective: to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
The Lleida Land Trust Fund was created in 2002 by 6 promoting entities: l’Associació Alba, Talma, l’Associació Amisol, L’Olivera Fundació, la Fundació Pro Disminuïts Psíquics del Berguedà and the Taller Claror. They did it with the desire to promote a guardianship organization to provide service to people and families who use these organizations. With this union, the main objective is to continue providing a quality and a close service to people with intellectual disabilities in the regions of Lleida so that they can build a life project based on their will, wishes and preferences.
